How to Make Binocular's

Things You'll Need

  •
    Two empty toilet paper rolls
  • Rubber bands
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon, yarn or string
  • Markers or crayons
  • Stickers
  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Plastic wrap
  • Craft glue

    • 1
    • Cut two empty toilet paper rolls exactly the same length. If you do not have empty toilet paper rolls, you can use construction paper instead. Cut one piece of construction paper widthwise. Roll each cut piece into a tube, and tape it in place. Make sure they are exactly the same size.
    • 2
Cut two small pieces of plastic wrap approximately three inches square. They should be just large enough to cover one end of each tube.
    • 3
Apply a small amount of craft glue around the outside of each tube approximately 1/4 inch from the end. While the glue is still wet, place one plastic wrap square on each tube so that it covers the circular opening on one end and adheres to the glue. Place a rubber band around the plastic wrap to hold it in place while the glue dries. If your glue does not properly keep the plastic wrap in place once dry, keep the rubber band on over the plastic wrap permanently.
    • 4
Use craft glue to glue the two tubes together so they sit side by side, with the plastic-wrapped ends on the same side. Secure the tubes together by placing rubber bands around them while the glue dries. If the glue is not sufficient to hold the tubes together, try using double-sided tape.
    • 5
Cover the tubes with construction paper. Be sure to cut the construction paper long enough to completely cover the plastic wrap on the outside of the tubes. Do not cover the ends of the tubes with construction paper, as doing that will impede vision.
    • 6
Punch a hole on the outside of each of the tubes, close to the end that does not have the plastic wrap. Tie a piece of ribbon, yarn or string through the holes to make a neck strap for the binoculars.
    • 7
Decorate the binoculars with markers or crayons.
